The Urgent Threat of Project 2025

Today, we face a specific threat to our freedoms known as Project 2025. This initiative calls for the entire Executive branch to be placed directly under presidential control based on the unitary executive theory. It aims to reclassify tens of thousands of federal civil service employees as political appointees, enabling the replacement of these individuals with those loyal to the president, thus paving the way for authoritarian rule under Donald Trump.

The Heritage Foundation, along with former Trump staffers like Peter Navarro and Ben Carson, has produced a 900-page document titled “The Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise.” This initiative poses a significant threat to government programs that support low-income and working-class families. It proposes dismantling these safety nets while offering substantial subsidies to large corporations, potentially undermining the support systems crucial for families to prosper and secure a better future for the next generation.

Project 2025 seeks to impose a national ban on a woman’s right to choose when and how to have children, threatens teachers with imprisonment for discussing banned books, and much more.

In light of these severe threats, we must do more than just vote. Every one of us needs to take action and advocate for the freedoms we have fought so hard to achieve, which are now at risk due to Project 2025. As media professionals, we have a unique opportunity to leverage our skills and passion to raise awareness.

Together with composer David Scheibner and film producer/director Mitch Brisker, I am producing a series of 60-second videos to be broadcast and shared across social media platforms.
